(Re)styling Safalin's wig! When we decided to do the Floormasters together for a con last week, I realized that if anyone deserves a restyle, it's safalin. I have learned so much since my first styling of her 5 years ago, and even since my last restyling of her about 2-3 years ago! This is one of those wigs that I keep in a bag because I hardly cosplay her, but now I may have to put her on a wig head 😆 I completely took out all of the glue and try to comb out all of the hairspray (I DEFINITELY should've given her a full wash but unfortunately I did this 2 days before the con) and started to get back to work. The last time I styled her I crimped her so she was all ready to go (even tho I would love if the marks were less visible haha) it was so much easier to keep those waves! I used pins and hairspray to keep the strands together in the shape I wanted while blowing them with a hairdryer on hot (the ends I held with my hand 😅 i tried not to burn myself but I think i have a high pain tolerance... do as I say not as I do.) And then once it cooled I removed the pins and let the wave down! I then made it looser with some steam so it made sense with the way safalin's looks. And it ended up so sturdy! I have been trying to practice more natural styling and really getting used to thinning out wigs for that type of style. I love it so much more. I want to remake so many of my wigs with this knowledge now 😆 maybe I'll try ranger next... (i'd have to get a new wig though) the skill definitely shows itself the most in the bangs! I love that I was able to capture Safalin's look without it looking too blocky. Anyway! I hope you enjoyed this restyling. I love going back to update old cosplays!!
