Berlin Pride is a space where I have never felt more safe in a big big crowd. DURING the day. But having to call so many people to make sure if they are safe and alive at night is terrible. I’m still exhausted and shocked. My heart hurts so bad. But I’ll tell you that Queer is louder than fear, so please be loud and proud for who you are. xx

We also need to remember that the kind of homophobia we see across most of the world today was exported there by colonialists - before colonialism many cultures (inc in Muslim countries) recognised THREE genders

We need to ask the questions. What measures are going to be taken to ensure something similar doesn’t happen in Brighton and Manchester pride? I don’t want to see lazy security, half assed bag searches. I want to see police presence! More needs to be done

That's what finished me too. So many comments were glorifying what happened. The dehumanisation didn't stop. On top of a person losing their life and people being injured, seeing that rhetoric sort of? It's like an echo of what happened and it's disturbing how normalised it has become *again*.

Truly heartbreaking news! This is why we still need Pride, it’s fundamental. The Zero Flag Project in Amsterdam, is a gut wrenching scale of the work still needed in the world. It went down one last year.
