Glad someone did the opposite for this trend! Birds are very high maintenance animals so therefore a lot of thinking should be done first before EVER purchasing or rescuing one.

the constant need for enrichment and attention. most people think they're happy just being out of their cage but it goes beyond that. also they don't eat just seeds, you have to constantly provide vegetables and fruits, millet and other things for them to eat. they also need showers, and an understanding of hormones in birds that requires tricks to cope with. they will also bite randomly even if they love you and those bites, depending on the bird breed, can really hurt. it's having an animal with the intelligence of a toddler or preschooler that has wings.
