one of my friends did 40 attacks and got 10 revenges and I also noticed the really low revenge rate this year. I don't think it's dying. I do think this year has been kinda rough. I dunno if it's Tiktok and people only attacking popular artists. or if it's something to do with the 3 teams?

I don't mind if I'm the 'only person drawing', but for the past three people I've attacked they haven't even commented on the attacks I gave them 😭 they're not REQUIRED to, but like..I feel like I'm sending them to the void??

yesss but what I think is crazy is when people beg for attacks but barely do half as many attacks they get, like at the very least do revenges. I'll see people with a 3% statistic and theyre still begging for more attacks like there's no way

ive participated in the last 8 yrs and there is a slight lull in activity in the latter half cause of vacations or general burn out! i think a good chunk of newer users this year had their expectations set too high with getting revenges or getting a lot of art immediately. there's not really instant gratification on there unless youre in a friend group or are drawing someone who guarantees revenges and isnt overloaded. so people complained so much and some quit and others got deterred by that which suck cause its still Goin on! im still giving and receiving art and im not well known/popular 😅

I've done like 30-40 attacks this year + a 35 character mass attack, most of the people I attacked have revenged, or I have revenged back. it's been pretty active but a number of people have probably started to burn them selves out.

I do think it is dying, mostly because people are no longer thinking of it as a gifting event and more of a ‘let me get free art’ event. People expect to get attacked without doing anything back and it’s just— awful lowkey

there will always be a slump in the middle of the event. but (this will sound like bragging but I'm not I'm genuinely surprised) I have gotten more art this year than the past two years combined. I think the three team model is definitely helping

I've seen this happen a couple times already actually and it's not that new of a concept, especially with the tiktokification of art fight and it's surge in popularity in the first week or two, people are hyped and produce as much art as they possibly can at the highest quality they possibly can, and once we're around halfway through the event, a lot of these artists end up burnt out or with art block because of that, and so the event slows down around the second half around the last week a good portion of people pick up pace again, but the second week and especially the third week are the quietest weeks of the event and that's been the case for years in my experience

I’ve been doing artfight for 7 years. This year especially sucked. People were rude. All other social medias were people complaining and wanting commission quality art for free. Most people only attacked popular artists. My ex-friend stole one of my characters.

I ONLY get revenges, i know it’s better than never getting attacked, but it’s sad to me that people don’t attack me because they like my characters, but only because I attacked first 😔

imo I feel like AF would do better in June. I feel like alot of ppl in school or work are busiest in July. at least from what I've seen/experienced. alot of schools around me start back in July 😔
