@chiphafford: Maine is hurting not only its people but the tourists that spend money here. And it’s time they listen to what the people want. #chiphafford #maine #northernmaine #atv #canam

This is sad cause I remember my Dad helping with the clearing of the railroad ties and brush. Those trails/tracks were kept up and maintained for the atvs and snowmobiling...otherwise they would be all grown over, ..like.. How many people you ever see walking these trails for fun?..Like for real.

As a dirtbiker you don’t need a truck on the trails

I know right now it seems like it’s a big deal, but in 5 years, you’ll realize you should get a dirtbike or back to a 4 wheeler. Seriously, those things are way too expensive to beat on and don’t hold up. I’ve had several, dirtbikes are 1/32 the maintenance

Straight axels cause more damage to trails than any side by side

I’ll start by saying it’s dumb. But I will say 2 side by sides are way wider than the trains that used to run those rail road beds. Unfortunately the side by side laws are losing money for Maine. I wish Maine like them the way NH does

I’m a Mainer and a long time 4wheeler person for 30 plus years. I’m 100% happy these big ass rigs are not allowed. Not all tails on railroad trail. You want a machine that big go jeeping!!! That is what jeeping is for. Side by sides are killing the trails and cause massive damage to real trails and bridges

99.8% of all the people that buy those machine are respectful users of the trail systems. It’s the .2% that are a bunch douche bags that abuse them that cause these issues.

There were train tracks on those roads? I thought they were logging roads.

To be fair it looks like you are on a road and not a trail so I get your frustration However, MOST trails in Maine are narrow and not one ATV club has the funds to go back through and make it wider for your SXS. get a 4wheeler or a bike and you’ll b Aok.

I don't disagree with you on the railroad beds chip! I do however understand what the land owners are concerned about with the back woods side trails, people's back yards and such especially down here in the Bangor area where it's mostly farmers fields and back trails. up in your areas it's all log roads and rail beds for the most part
