i’ve had too many people hurt by cheaters, i have no patience or forgiveness for them. i could see myself finding peace with it and moving on, but never truly forgiving someone for that. the trust issues, the reality-crushing hurt that comes with it; i hope to never experience that. if you’re unhappy, just communicate that and break it off if it isn’t fixable. idk if it’s some addiction/adrenaline-junky-type high that people get from sneaking around, but it’s really baffling to me how common and scarily normalized it can be in some circles. like you said, it seems more stressful to go through all of that and keep multiple stories straight.

I think if someone cheats they are not putting in the effort that you are into the relationship. if they cheat their minds are not even in the same room.

I dated a guy when I was like 19 who I found out after a year of being together was cheating on me with 2 other girls. I lived with him. I have no idea how he did this. One of the girls WAS my childhood best friend. She did it as revenge because we met him at the same time but he liked me.

Years ago a principal in our district was caught cheating (like literally caught, it wasn’t like people didn’t know about him). I was talking to a coworker and said that I couldn’t imagine our current principal cheating on his wife. Embarrassingly he walked in as I was saying it. All he said was “I don’t understand where they find the time.”
