that's why i lowk love the concept of "umsonstladen" here in germany, it's basically a free store, you bring what you don't need anymore and take whatever you want, there's also lots of groups, where people look for and give away stuff, i absolutely love thrifting too most of my stuff is thrifted and i do prefer it, bc it's way better quality than the 99% polyester pieces that are in stores currently ^^

I starting thrifting and haven't looked back. If it makes sense and works for me, I thrift it! Plus I love seeing some wear and tear on furniture I like to think it had past lives and now I gave it another lol

Literally. Last year moved into an apartment and got a ~$300 ikea bed. I moved again this year and it fell apart while we were trying to disassemble it (bc it’s ikea plywood). I then found a ~$300 bed on fb that is easy to put together, durable, and originally worth $1200. Wish I’d done that the first time
