You can have the perfect meal plan, the right macros, and the best workout plan, but your body will still hold on to fat, spike blood sugar, and store everything you eat instead of burning it for fuel. And it has nothing to do with the plan. Inflammation changes the way your body processes food. Here's what it looks like. When inflammation is elevated, it makes you more insulin resistant. This means it requires more insulin to get food to go into your cells and it stays elevated longer. And stores fat can’t be burned in the presence of insulin. This means you stay in a storing state longer than before regardless of what you eat all because you are inflamed. Secondly inflammation damages your mitochondria. Your mitochondria are responsible for taking the food you eat and converting it to energy that your cells can actually use. When your mitochondria are damaged, they're not good at doing this, so your body literally gets worse at burning calories. So now insulin is keeping you in a storage state, your mitochondria can't convert the food that you're eating into fuel, which means the majority is being stored as fat. That is why the plan isn't working. Not because the plan is bad. Because inflammation is sitting between you and your results. So how do you fix it? Picture a bathtub that's overflowing. Most women get handed a bucket. Scoop the water out. Cut this food. Add that supplement. Try another detox round. But the faucet is still running If you never turn off what's driving the inflammation (the cortisol, the blood sugar swings, the liver backup, the gut disruption) you will scoop forever and the tub will never drain. You need to turn off the faucet AND empty the tub. I walked through exactly how to do both in episode 311 of the Metabolism and Menopause Podcast - link in bio Apple 🎙️ https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/inflammation-menopause-belly-fat-why-you-cant-lose/id1683220450?i=1000774177391 Spotify 🎶 https://open.spotify.com/episode/3bok4dXUtIGSvXcNH4qlfp?si=ekZlp2MMQeu3Qq_c4TY7KQ YouTube 📺 https://youtu.be/lDKbjG0AI7c?si=CY19QanKW0xi3lYL #inflammation #weightloss #estrogen #perimenopause #menopause
