And you don’t even have the whole story: she delayed her start date so she didn’t have to work on her birthday. And she HAD to go to the DMV day 1 because her uncle works there and was on shift that day so he could help her out. No accountability. Doomed from the start.

they normally ask if you have a reliable way to get to work being late your FIRST shift is terrible but you had an excuse valid SECOND SHIFT unacceptable completely deserved the company isn't worth your time your not worth the companies time

Gen Z is totally unhinged. my ex worker was late every morning and left early every day. never made up time. never took accountability to her job, and never could do her job. now am I late a lot? yeah but I also live on the other side of city from work and a lot of things go wrong all the time. But I text them immediately if I think I'm running late AND on the days im not in the office I am making up time or working to account for any issues I had

I always have to tell new hires that our probation period is six months. For those six months, be on time and be dependable, that's it!

Being 30 minutes late and being 5 minutes late in some circumstances is truely not a huge deal, but on day 1 & day 2 is a WHOLE different situation.

a friend of mine called me to say she was angry after her quarterly review. She said her supervisor said "you've been late 15 out of 30 days" I said "is that true?" my friend says, "Yes." I was like "girl you should thank her on bended knee that you still have a fkin job!"🙄

My old boss coined the term "Annie late" because if there was any amount of traffic on the highway I'd text her saying I was running late and still clock in 10 minutes early.
