I'm convinced they no longer deal in cars, they all just sell financing. That's it. The cars are pretty much irrelevant at this point.

from my understanding it's actually illegal to require you to run a credit check if you're paying in cash. Cash being, from your bank account. That's against the fair credit act

Got asked to leave a dealership after refusing to do a credit form on a cash deal, the dealer uses their credit company to verify OFAC. I even spoke with store GM and showed the official government site to check our names in OFAC, still no deal. Posted experience on a social media site and was surprised by how many other people had a similar experience with the same dealer.

they dont want to sell a vehicle for cash. its designed for thr dealer to make money on the financing of the vehicle. It is a shady mess in the dealerships these days.

I purchased a car had my own financing they still wanted to run my credit I refused and told them I’m taking the car with my pre approved financing I already secured or no sale 30 min later I had the car.
