Now, we just need to improve our messaging. Not only do we need to come up with catchier phrases that hit on what we're about, we need them to stick in people's brains. We've relied too much on the belief that people will dig into the policies and do the research themselves, like we do. Most people strictly look at the sound bites and catch phrases and then they don't go any deeper. And for the love of god, we need to drastically change our messaging about universal healthcare. We've relied on the belief that all people have empathy and want to do things out of the sense of community. A lot of people are selfish, and only look at how things help themselves. We need to focus on the savings aspect. The VAST majority of people will save money moving to single-payer. They don't understand that they will no longer have to pay premiums, co-pays, and deductibles. They think they'll still pay that and be taxed on top of it. I know it seems obvious to us, but I live in red KS, and more people than not don't understand that. Even upper middleclass people who you would think should understand it, don't. We have to treat it as if we're speaking to 5th graders, because our literacy rate tells us that most people need it dumbed down. Ugh

I am independent and I will vote blue. of the two options ( which shouldn't be a thing in my opinion) I see one side actually trying to kill or enslave us. if you are like me you see bad on both sides you can see one is definitely worse at the moment. my views aren't perfect by any means but I recognize several patterns from history playing out in today's society
