back in the day, (over 25+ yrs ago) my son passed away at a young age. I donated my milk to the NICU he had been in, and they pasteurized the milk before giving it to any other baby.

so I just did a Google search of this exact question, yeah? it gave me a list of articles regarding why pasteurizing human breast milk is usually unnecessary. like....I already knew why before the search, but I'm just saying that it takes less than a minute to get answers.

Donor breastmilk is pasteurized, correct . But if the baby is able to get its own mother’s milk, it does not have to be pasteurized.

Human breast milk is safer for the child from that mother. It's almost like their immune systems have been in sync for the last 9 months ish. If a sensitive baby is exposed to germs that their system is not trained to fight they just die. Quickly and painfully, with very little chance to prevent it.

Moms normally don't sit in their own filth as he said. Also, they check the mom's blood at the hospital to be safe, they also pasturize breast milk for babies born before 33 weeks, even if it's the bio mother's milk.

Did you know that when a woman pumps in the morning a.m. and pumps in the evening p.m. that gives the baby what Nancy in regards to it allows the baby to stay up longer in the morning and the breastmilk at night has a sedative quality to it and puts the baby to bed at night
