@cjwhitt77: #greenscreen #autism #autismmom #parents Autism is Autism is Autism is frequently said, and the le el system is murkey at best. which leads to the problem of some people downplaying or even hyping Autism while other families are fighting for their life. because of autism.
Level 3 autism scares me. Genuinely. Your a good dad, proud of you, thank you for letting us get a small glimpse into your life ❤️

Also let’s talk about how there is NOTHING for adults with this level. It’s so hard to find a good caregiver during the day, and day programs are all for children. Like no one thinks about how these kids will still turn 30.

It's so sad that everything that is made specifically for autistic children has a way higher price tag then items for nonautistic children. Our children deserve to have affordable options to keep them safe.

The way people, who self diagnose their quirky attitudes as autism, treat parents who want answers for the prevalence of autism in children is crazy.

As an autistic person some of these comments are APPALLING! Shame on the people in these comments saying they’ll drop their children off at a facility. I hope these people are NEVER capable of having children. I’m level 2 with medium level support needs. I need help to be able to function on a day to day basis. I can do normal tasks and stuff but burn out easy and need others to take over for me. It’s not easy living like this. That’s why I personally wouldn’t have children because it’s my own decision to not pass down my disabilities.

I asked SSI if I could purchase a car seat like that for my son with some of his basically unusable back pay and they said I would need to get a doctor or therapist to say he needed it. Now I have to schedule an appointment and go plead with his pediatrician on how we need him to write a letter to Social Security 🤦♀️. It’s his money and he needs it!!

They really say that “it’s behavioral not medical”?? What sense does that make?? Isn’t autism a medical condition?? They need to cover the cost, whatever the cost!!!

as someone with level 1 autism who works in ABA. THIS. So many adults with autism, who are level 1, hate on ABA and say parents are abusing their kids by sending them to ABA. I will say I have seen centers that are unethical, just like you have hospitals or vet clinics that are unethical. ABA as a field is no longer working as conversion therapy. I am not working to make your level 3 autistic child who is anti-social to be social. I am working to make sure that each behavior is tracked so insurance is able to cover further behavioral for your child, and while doing that I am trying to teach and reinforce safe replacement behaviors.
sure, we work with level 1 and level 2 autism. However, when we work more on social goals and school readiness we are not working towards "getting rid of autism" but we are working to make sure they are safe. Can we help a child sit quietly in the case of an active threat within the school because these are things we have to worry about. Can we make it so the child knows its not safe to walk up to people and hug them without warning. Can we make it so a child does not say things to strangers that puts them in danger, such as kids who have learned to automatically give out personal information because of how they were taught to immediately respond to "where do you live, whats your mom's name, whats your dad's name, etc." they need to know that personal information for safety, but they also need to know not to script and hand it out to just anyone.

I'm sorry there's more to it than just autism. it's usually a type of learning disability and a mental development disorder. I say this because my granddaughters nonverbal and will run and do the same things you're talking about. but my wife and my oldest son who are fully autistic don't have a level and they are two of the smartest people I know. autism itself gets a bad rap it's not just autism there are several genetic dysfunctions that have to happen at the same time for a nonverbal to become the way they are
