we can also argue that he is the one who has lost most friends and that numbs a person after awhile. He grieves, but differently and because of that numbness is able to overcome his emotions and does what needs to be done. The emotions are there but controlled and used as quiet rage and fuel to kill titans.

Although I agree, the only difference I’d say is it’s difficult to compare Eren and Levi. Of course Levi went through a LOT of terrible things. But Eren went through some similar and clearly was much younger and emotional. But the main thing I disagree on is Eren never really had a choice. Yes he wanted this once he saw people living lavishly outside the walls. But that’s what made him a perfect puppet. We can’t forget he couldn’t change any of the outcome, no matter if he tried to “regulate his emotions”. Fate drove him deeper into this emotional maniac. Plus it was also allegorizing the radicalization of humans through many different perspectives, Eren being one example with a twist of it wasn’t in his control in reality.
