I love my kids to bits but i know they are humanbeings who will grow up, get their own lives and not even think about my sacrifices. I trade carefully how i balance my own life interests and taking care of them. But i understand if you are living in a different state with them, the seperation anxiety gets to you.

Been self employed for 15 years, all I can say is you need a support structure. If you are a man it’s easier if your wife is working and also understanding but importantly you need to have a buffer like savings. If you are a lady it’s much easier because the role of provision lies with the man at home and that goes a long way. Many times people don’t tell you that they quit but there was someone taking care of the bills while I settled in , because let me tell you. Quitting without a plan is suicide
