I don’t even think Celeste’s parents knew she was unalived until her body was discovered. Reporting her missing was the bare minimum. When they reported Celeste missing the first time, the police went to David’s house to speak to him. They knew where she was. If that were my child, I would be on the news, calling David out publicly, showing up to David’s house, etc. When they took her phone, they should’ve turned it into the police so they could investigate it and search through it. Both sets of parents deserve some culpability.
