One afternoon, walking at the University of Denver, I heard our wedding song: "Dancing in the Moonlight." 🌙 In an instant, I was hit with a memory of lan on our back deck, one month before he died. His body was frail. His face was sunken. A shell of the handsome hunk I'd fallen in love with. His body was frail. His face was sunken. A shell of the handsome hunk I'd fallen in love with. But there he was... rocking in the sun, eyes closed, sucking on a popsicle, savoring every bit of the taste, the temperature, the texture. Pure BLISS! 💡That's when it hit me. There was lan: content, satisfied, full of life. And DYING. And there was me: stressed, anxious, checked out. Healthy and ALIVE. I wondered...How could a DYING man be more ALIVE than me? AND... Was there a way to LIVE the way lan was DYING? That question planted the seed for my life's work. 🌱 After that walk, I started engaging with death daily. Deathbed visualizations. Writing my own obituary. Grieving my life while I was still living it. And things started to change. ✨ I prioritized what mattered - afternoons kicking the soccer ball around with my kids, slowing down to protect my peace. I stopped waiting for the "right time" and booked the family trip to Bali and a pilgrimage to Egypt. I noticed the magic all around me - the cinematic sunrise every morning, my beating heart, what a gift it is to be alive. 👉🏻Facing DEATH was the key to feeling truly ALIVE.
