Haiti Needs the World to Wake Up
Why is there not enough national and international attention on what is happening in Haiti?
I am asking everyone to stop for a moment and look beyond the headlines.
Haiti is in crisis.
Children are dying. Mothers and fathers are being killed. Families are being forced from their homes. People are living in fear, with nowhere safe to go. Even animals are being caught in the violence.
And yet, when Haitians are told to “go back home,” I want people to understand something:
We would love to go home.
We would love to live in our country. We would love to raise our children in Haiti. We would love to build businesses, work, worship, educate our children, and live peacefully in the land of our ancestors.
But how can you tell people to go home when home is not safe?
Haitians are not asking the world to give us a free life. We are not asking for someone to hand us everything.
We are asking for the freedom to live.
We are asking the world to stop allowing Haiti to be destroyed while innocent people pay the price.
This is not just a Haitian issue.
I am calling on Black people, white people, Caribbean people, African people, Americans, Europeans—everyone. It doesn’t matter what color you are or where you come from.
Human suffering should matter to all of us.
Where are the cameras?
Where is the urgency?
Where is the national conversation?
Where is the outrage for the children who are dying?
Haiti cannot become another crisis that the world watches for a few days and then forgets.
We need the world to pay attention.
We need journalists to tell the stories. We need leaders to act. We need people to educate themselves about what is happening—not just when Haiti becomes a trending topic, but every day.
Because behind every statistic is a mother, a father, a child, a family.
Haiti is not just a country in crisis. Haiti is people. Haiti is families. Haiti is our home.
So I am asking the world:
Please don’t look away.
Don’t tell Haitians to simply “go home.”
Help make Haiti a place where Haitians can safely go home.
🇭🇹 HELP US SAVE HAITI.
