This is true guys and I’ll explain why from my perspective.Lets look at China and the United States;the US has a massive amount of natural resources and so does China.However China is the most industrialized country in the world despite the US industrializing sooner than China infact China was late to industrialize.The reason being that China was committed to one goal due to things like them being more authoritarian and nationalistic.Being authoritarian and nationalistic isn’t necessarily a bad thing unless there’s too much of them,but in this case it helped them unite and industrialize fast.While in the US opinions became a lot more diverse making it harder to decide things some people wanted to expand and industrialize while others didn’t to save the environment.Thats why I think unity beats diversity.

Diversity and unity aren't opposites. Unity comes from shared principles like the rule of law, mutual respect, individual liberty, and equal opportunity. A diverse society can be remarkably united when people rally around those values. Saying "I'd rather have five people who think like me than 100 who don't" works for building a small business team. It doesn't work as a blueprint for an entire nation. America has always grown through waves of immigrants, refugees, and people fleeing war, persecution, and famine. The goal isn't uniformity. It's building a society where people from different backgrounds can unite around common values while contributing different experiences and ideas.

I totally agree, but today’s meaning of diversity isn’t necessarily different goals or values it just means a diverse group of cultures and genetic traits, like you said. So when people say diversity they aren’t talking about values or goals.
