@sammicohentalks: Berkeley ran a series of experiments on this, and the finding that stuck with me is that the confident people were rated as more competent by their peers while measuring no better on actual ability.💭 The thing I wish someone told me at 25 is that the people getting the opportunities were not chosen. They asked. Cold emails, dms that went nowhere for months, pitches to people who never wrote back.
