I was being SA by a male in my family at the age of 9. I looked up at my ceiling and said “if there truly is someone up there… get me away from him, I’ll follow You forever.” 2 weeks later, we moved away from him and I havnt seen him since. The only thing I did was pray.

Even with the face paint, you could see Joe was actually listening. And probably somewhat stunned. Probably felt seen for the first time in a long time. Probably a feeling in his heart he hadn’t felt since he was a kid. It’s all speculation from me, but those overwhelming feelings are more evidence of Jesus. We are His kids. In the end, no matter what lies we tell ourselves or others, we just want His love. Some just don’t know it yet.
