Jeremy Lin took over the NBA during his 2012 “Linsanity” run with the New York Knicks. He brought joy to basketball fans around the world and became an inspiration for the Asian American and Pacific Islander community. But Lin looks back on that magical stretch — and the first few years of his professional career — and thinks of the anxiety he battled and the burden he carried more than anything. Now, as the 37-year-old gives back to the younger generation of Asian basketball players, he hopes to instill confidence and joy into their games. The camp, in its second year, is designed to provide campers with basketball and life lessons they can take into their futures. Most of the four-day experience is spent off the court, Lin said, referencing workshops in financial literacy, how to maximize name, image and likeness opportunities and lessons in joy-based versus fear-based leadership.
