I'm confused by this because if I'm already prioritizing you then there is no way that I would be voluntarily working late so if I'm texting you that I have to stay late for work then I don't really have the option to not do that. I can call you and empathize/validate that it sucks but expecting me to put my job at risk is a bit much

Sometimes it works out, maybe he finished earlier than expected and was being respectful by sending the “shift plans”text 🤷♂️. Had a date scheduled for last Wednesday, because I had to switch locations for work that day I let her know immediately and rescheduled for Friday. Even if I finished earlier on Wednesday there was no way I could make it to where our date was scheduled for.
