@kazue_77: Shinkansen Luggage Hack✨🚅 🚄 Big news for Shinkansen travelers with large luggage! Here's everything you need to know about where to store oversized bags — and when you actually need a reservation. Since July 2025, storing your bag in the space between train cars (called "Oversized Baggage Storage") no longer requires a reservation. This trial change means anyone can use that space freely — but it's strictly first-come, first-served, so don't count on it being available during busy travel times. However, if you'd rather keep your luggage close and secure right behind your own seat, you still need to reserve the last row seat in each car, known as a "Seat with Oversized Baggage Storage." This reservation is free — no extra charge — but it must be booked in advance through the EX app or at the ticket counter. So how do you know if you actually need to worry about any of this? It all comes down to size. If the total of your luggage's three dimensions (length + width + height) is 160cm or less, you're fine — just use the regular overhead rack, no reservation needed at all. If your luggage measures between 160cm and 250cm, that's when it's officially classified as "oversized baggage," and you'll need to either use the free deck space (first-come, first-served) or reserve that last-row seat if you want guaranteed space. And if your luggage exceeds 250cm in total, it unfortunately can't be brought onto the Shinkansen at all — no exceptions. One more tip: sports equipment, musical instruments, wheelchairs, and strollers can use the oversized baggage space without needing any reservation, regardless of size. Traveling with big luggage on the Shinkansen doesn't have to be stressful — now you know exactly where it goes! 🧳✨ #Shinkansen #JapanTravel #BulletTrain #TravelTips #JapanTrip
