Fun fact, in every adaptation the kids miraculously survive at the end. Except the musical. In the musical they straight up die canonically. They sing about it and everything. Veruca Salt’s death is actually kind of graphic (for a musical production). It shocked me and my favorite musical since I was 11 was Sweeney Todd. Like it’s goofy but damn. No idea why they made this decision
