I'm going to be getting dentures this year or the next. I grit my teeth at night.. I think I would sleep in my temporary ones or use 2 mouth guards

If you have a dog or cat DO NOT sleep in them. They will eat them if your dentures fall out. Yes you can sleep in them. However please clean them before bed and use mouthwash before putting them back in. Yes fungus can grow in them. Dentures are porous so they can hold bacteria. Plaque will also accumulate on them so they need to be scrubbed daily. Keep your tissues clean with mouthwash and a soft tooth brush. FYI Im a denture technician. Making and repairing dentures is what I do. And speaking from experience there is nothing worse than a dirty denture. Cleanliness is the key to the longevity of your dentures and overall oral health. Sleep in your dentures I think sleeping in your dentures help keep your facial posture longer

You can get thrush. I swish with coconut oil. It's an antifungal. I sleep in mine everyday bc of the issues with my jaw. I over close at night and my TMJ flares up. I brush n soak twice a day. My dentist made me a guard for at night.

it's up to you. I don't sleep in them but can nap in mine. some have to due to tmj..the point is to keep them cleaned regularly..what ever your comfort level is..

My mom has slept in her dentures for 35 years, the only time she takes them out is when she cleans them and she has never had any issue!

I am I’m new to my dentures too, but I refuse to take mine off your face drops and yes, it does it drops in the night and you’re sleeping overnight with no teeth. I won’t do it and it feels uncomfortable to do it with your teeth off.
