I wore out this pair of crock sandals where the tread was gone and I was literally slipping and falling when I wore them, but couldn't afford new ones. There was still a decent thickness to the sandals, so I took an exacto knife and carved new tread into the bottoms. Wore them for another 4 months or so

honestly same. I got a hoodie from mf middle school I repaired the sleeve on. now I can look back and see how much better my repairs are.
