Speaking on the state of the nation, Pastor David Ibiyeomie called for justice, fairness, religious freedom, and responsible leadership in Nigeria. He questioned laws and policies that appear to restrict Christians from openly expressing and preaching their faith while similar religious expressions are permitted, stressing that Nigeria must remain a nation where Christians and Muslims can live peacefully, practise their faith freely, and enjoy equal rights. He also expressed concern over the continued insecurity, the killing of Christians in parts of Northern Nigeria, the loss of Nigerian lives beyond our borders, and the hardship being experienced by citizens. He challenged political leaders to focus on addressing the real problems confronting Nigerians rather than making laws that do not reflect the pressing needs of the people or denying the realities citizens face daily. Pastor Ibiyeomie made it clear that he is not interested in politics. However, he stated that he will not remain silent when issues affect the Gospel of Jesus Christ, religious freedom, or the wellbeing of Nigerians. He emphasized that when policies, injustice, insecurity, or actions of those in authority threaten what is right, people must have the courage to speak up, regardless of who is involved. He further expressed concern that even some Christians in positions of influence have remained silent when they should speak up for what is right. Addressing what he described as signs of an agenda that could undermine Nigeria's religious balance, he maintained that Nigeria must remain a nation where no faith is imposed upon another and where every Nigerian is free to practise their faith without discrimination. His charge to Nigerians was clear: do not see evil and remain silent. Say no to injustice, oppression, insecurity, religious discrimination, and every action that threatens the peace and unity of our nation. Nigeria belongs to all of us, and we must continue to stand for truth, justice, peaceful coexistence, and a better Nigeria.
