I literally have long sleeve tops from primark that are easily 10 years old and are such a staple piece of my wardrobe!

I work in a charity shop. the amount of Shein polyester rubbish we get is untrue and we just can't sell it, however cheap we price it. it lasts about 6 months before it looks terrible. I do have a very old C and A coat (remember them?!) which must be 35 years old and still looks smashing.

Yup! I’m more about vinted these days. However I went to primark the other day and bought 2 knitted waistcoats, was really happy, went to m and s and found the almost exact same, but better quality for the same price! I was horrified and returned my primark goods and bought the m and s ones, the quality is insane and will last me forever! I also bought myself a vintage 90’s Barbour wax jacket on vinted for £5 the other day! I need to renovate the lining and re-wax it but other than that it’s immaculate and I’m so excited to do it! Im definitely more about considered buying these days. The primark thing was more of a panic as I needed something for the office quickly as the clothes I have are now too big and my Vinted purchases hadn’t arrived yet. But imagine m and s clothing being the same price as primark! Couldn’t believe it! Xx

I’ve got Zara Mango Uniqlo basics things that I’ve had 20 years. I never ever buy things on a whim I buy things I wear and wear. I agree it doesn’t have to be expensive and designer as long as you keep them.

I agree to a point but we must acknowledge that old and very true saying "it costs a lot of money to be poor." The issue is, some people can't afford the amount up front for these quality pieces that will last years, so they buy cheap and end up buying more often. If you don't have much money are you genuinely going to buy the one top for £50 (which is cheap to some, I know) or two tops at a tenner each, trousers for £25 and have a fiver left?

Exactly. When I was a teen, it wasn’t “fast fashion” it was just what teens could afford on an allowance. Also, what do ppl think lower income people buy? Kinda snobby to tell someone to stop buying fast fashion when it’s just their fashion price point.

I recently just sold all my old Topshop clothes from back in the day in immaculate condition (on vinted). They’re still really fashionable items I’m just too old for them now!

I've been saying this for years, I buy stuff from shein, Primark etc and I've had it for years and still wear most of it, some is too big now I've lost weight.

I don’t think we can lecture people on fast fashion. It’s about budget and means,

I have a lot of old “fast fashion” that I love, but the newer stuff I feel like isn’t as good quality?

Claire, I love the way your hair is styled! Would you consider doing a revised hair tutorial since you hair is longer now? I’m growing out my bob
