Frequent consumption of acidic drinks can erode tooth enamel, and high intakes of cola drinks have been associated in some studies with lower bone mineral density, although many factors can influence bone health. 🥤 Caramel colouring (E150d) – Produced through a manufacturing process that can generate small amounts of a compound called 4-MEI. Animal studies have raised concerns about high-dose exposure, but the levels found in soft drinks are regulated and considered safe by food safety authorities. 🥤 Caffeine – Can temporarily boost alertness but may also contribute to sleep problems, jitteriness, anxiety, or dependence in some people.
