What does that actually mean? Once you understand traditional sprint mechanics, you start to see just how differently a sprinter moves from almost every other athlete. And once you see it, it’s hard to unsee. What sprinters do so well is produce a powerful strike into the ground that projects them forward and helps set up the next step. The sprinter also tends to show a more expansive and efficient limb cycle. Better front-side action, tighter/more efficient recovery behind the body, and less wasted motion all help create the whip like exchange that keeps them moving forward. They get more out of each step - more distance, better rhythm and a movement pattern that can look almost effortless at high speed. That’s why great sprinters sometimes look like they’re floating. They’re covering more ground per step while preserving the qualities that let them keep doing it. This idea was really inspired by Percy Duncan & Charlie Francis. And when you understand that, you realize speed isn’t random. There are qualities that drive it, qualities that limit it, and a process for developing it. That’s what I spent twenty years trying to figure out. The question I get most from coaches usually isn’t about exercises. It’s about programming. How do you actually build a plan that develops speed? That’s what my new ebook Force & Expression is built to answer: sprint mechanics, force production, programming architecture, athlete diagnostics, and the framework behind it all. Pair it with Speed Kills and you get both the framework and the application, plus an 8-week program that shows you how to put it all together. #getfaster #speedworkout #sprinter #speedtraining #sprinting
