They could’ve kept ownership and hired professionals to run the company while the family stayed in control and kept collecting the profits. Instead, that fat paycheck was apparently enough to sell everything his father spent decades building. In my opinion, that’s weak. His father built an iconic brand through grit and sacrifice, and the second the responsibility landed on the next generation, they cashed out. To me, that’s spineless. It feels like he inherited a throne instead of earning one, and when it came time to carry the legacy, he folded and sold it to a private equity firm
