Tap the link in my bio up to start the drawing drills course. A jellyfish looks complicated until you realize it’s basically built from two forms. A dome and a bunch of ribbons. The dome gives you the volume and direction of the body. The ribbons give you the movement. Once you understand how ribbons bend, curl, overlap, and turn through space, you can use them to create tentacles flowing in almost any direction you imagine. That’s why learning simplified forms is so useful. You’re not memorizing how to draw a jellyfish. You’re building a visual library of forms you already know how to manipulate. Then when you want to draw something new, you combine, modify, and arrange those forms until the object appears. Learn the forms first. Then use them to build anything.
