It comes from the story of Hansel and Gretel leaving a trail of breadcrumbs, but it leads nowhere!!!!!! Common Signs; Random texts: Sending a late-night "hey", a funny meme, or a flirty emoji after days of silence. No solid plans: Saying things like "we should hang out soon" but never picking a date. Hot and cold: Acting very nice at first or when you try to leave, then pulling away again. Why People Do It Attention: They want an ego boost or validation.Options: They keep you on the hook as a backup plan while they look for other people. Fear: They do not want to be alone, but they also do not want a real relationship!!!

Breadcrumbing is when in the beginning they did everything to get you made you prioritize them but then switch up and did less and less. When you point it out you get a small gesture to satisfy you but realistically speaking it’s as small as giving a complement or giving flowers but then doing less and less then the Breadcrumbing becomes less as well but all they do is reassure you that it’s all in your head. And that you’re asking for too much when it’s the bare minimum… So the cycle continues until all you’re left with is dust.
