This episode was so deep, because it showed us Gods will for our lives. If he was to have healed her the heart of Thomas would only belong to him because he has seen what he has done. Yes this was not in the bible but the story sets up for later after Christ come back and he does not believe he has come back. Jesus after telling him to touch his wounds tells him. Blessed are you that have believed and not seen. God wants our hearts.

I felt the same way when my son died. I prayed and prayed and prayed for God to wake him up, to make it all go away. Losing my baby was the hardest thing I’ve ever gone through, but I can confidently say that I wouldn’t have as close a relationship with God now if I never lost my son. My marriage also grew much stronger. I may not know the reasons why, but I know my Lord does and one day I will see my baby again
