@vox_weather_girls: ⚠️WIDESPREAD RAIN AND SNOW SET TO HIT THE EASTERN CAPE THIS WEEK⚠️ 🌧️An upper-air trough over the western interior, together with a ridging surface high-pressure system, will result in widespread to scattered showers and thundershowers across the Eastern Cape. ⚠️MORE THAN 100MM of rain could fall in places, mainly along the coast and adjacent interior between East London and Margate throughout Tuesday and Wednesday, increasing the risk of widespread flooding. ❄️A possible cut-off low may then develop, causing temperatures and freezing levels to drop significantly. ⚠️HEAVY & DISRUPTIVE SNOWFALL of up to 40CM is likely over parts of lesotho and the Southern Drakensberg. ⚠️ The South African Weather Service has already issued several impact-based warnings, including: 🟠 Orange Level 6 warning for disruptive rain along the Wild Coast and adjacent interior. 🟠 Orange Level 5 warning for disruptive snow over the north-western high-lying areas of the Eastern Cape.
