@docamen: If I could give you just one reason to rethink alcohol, it would be this. 🧠 Watch before your next drink… #brainhealth #alcohol #healthyhabits #MentalHealth #MentalHealthAwareness
We were the happiest as kids and never needed it. Everything is a mental thing. You don’t need it! I promise

Almost seven months sober. I finally feel pure happiness (along with grief, sadness and everything in between) like a did before I ever started drinking. I feel like a kid again!

No alcohol in over 2 years. I had to re train myself how to be social without it… best thing I ever did. I don’t miss wasted days being hungover.

Jokes on you. My biggest problem is that I genuinely LIKE who I am when I’m drunk. When I am sober my mind is overthinking everything and I am introverted as a result. When I drink, I become social and funny. I will often have crowds of people that form around me.

“Poison” is doing a lot of work there. By that logic, loving yourself means never eating sugar, never driving a car, never eating red meat, never skipping sleep, anything with nonzero risk becomes “self-hatred” if you don’t fully abstain. Nobody actually lives by that standard, including the doctor. Moderate drinking isn’t drinking poison; it’s accepting a small, known risk in exchange for something you value, same as literally every other tradeoff you make daily. The “if you loved yourself you wouldn’t” line is a moral guilt trip dressed up as medical advice, it’s not actually an argument, it’s rhetoric.

What can I replace it with to give me energy to get through all the evening cooking, washing, dishes, packing leftovers, making wraps etc… but I can’t have caffeine and I can’t sleep. Alcohol seems to give a good balance as I sleep well. So what else could I take for energy and happiness with my kids.

I love when people talk nonstop about health, organic food, and all that good stuff. and act so classy but when it comes to alcohol, suddenly it is, “Oh, we have control over how much we should drink.” Apparently, poison becomes healthy when served in a fancy glass lol. Poison does not have a safe limit whether it is one drop or one spoon, it is still poison.

Done! I haven’t drank any alcohol in over two years. Recommend the book Quit Like a Women, it did such a great job of explaining there is ZERO benefits of alcohol, and it’s cancerous! It increases your risk of 7 of the most common cancers!

No amount of alcohol is a safe amount. 14 years without it. It’s a man made poison that ages people poorly. ✨

It raises your happiness baseline. You can’t reach it without more and more alcohol. You feel miserable and you drink more.
