The problems with AI are actually just problems with capitalism. The tech companies want you to believe it's not possible to run data centers on renewable energy and to cool them sustainably, but it is possible, and it's already happening in China. I went to the World AI Conference in Shanghai and saw AI and robotics done right. Chinese AI is open source when promotes collaboration and prevents monopolies. Chinese AI researchers have made incredible breakthroughs in AI efficiency that the western corporations have freely copied. Without Chinese AI researchers, western AI companies would be polluting way more than they already are now. Because they prevent monopolies and highly regulate their industries, there actually is a healthy amount of market competition to create things that will actually help people... not just inflate shareholder value. If you've been wondering why every single product has to incorporate AI in some wasteful totally useless way in the west, that's why. These companies have to look like tech leaders who use AI in order to follow the trend and the speculation wave. It's pathetic. Meanwhile, OpenAI and Anthropic (ChatGPT and Claude) have been found giving ungodly amounts of money to anti-China dark money groups. The same AI companies we oppose are spending millions to keep us from knowing the truth about Chinese AI. Here in China, they actually regulate the AI companies for ethics too. A new law was passed to hevily restrict #AI companion products. They ban chatbots from creating addictive emotional relationships with users and regulate what they can say to minors. It's going to take a lot of work to get our own government to regulate AI, but we have to. The problems with western AI are real, but like everything else, they're problems with capitalism, not with the technology itself. According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), in 2024 all data centers worldwide for AI, cloud computing, and streaming used only about 1.5% of global electricity, and AI servers accounted for only about 15% of data-center energy use, meaning AI's actual electricity use is under 0.3% of the global total. And energy use per AI query is falling tenfold every year: a simple AI text query uses less electricity than running a TV for the same duration. And scrolling, streaming vidoes on social media uses massive amounts of electricity too, but you never see influencers going viral telling people to stop scrolling. On water consumption: Google's official technical report shows a median Gemini text prompt uses about 0.26 ml of water — roughly five drops. By comparison, Americans use ~34 billion liters of water a day watering lawns, while all Gemini prompts worldwide in a full day total only about 650,000 liters. So where does American panic come from? Part of it is real: AI is monopolized by a few tech giants, electricity bills are at all-time highs, and layoff anxiety is spreading. Part of it is deliberately manufactured: a WIRED investigation (May 2026) exposed a dark-money group called 'Build American AI' — backed by the $140 million super PAC 'Leading the Future,' funded by OpenAI president Greg Brockman, OpenAI investor Andreessen Horowitz, Palantir co-founder Joe Lonsdale and others — which pays TikTok and Instagram influencers about $5,000 per video to spread 'Chinese AI threat' messaging while concealing who is paying. OpenAI and Anthropic have also become the biggest-spending AI lobbyists in Washington, with $2.99M and $3.13M in federal lobbying in 2025 respectively, plus Anthropic's separate $20 million donation to the political group Public First Action. #WAIC #TikTokTechContest
