Mind you, on the genocide topic for Chara, if you do genocide enough times, they straight up tell you, or ask you, “please do something else. I’m getting tired of seeing them die” or something very similar

Genuinely blaming Chara and Noelle for the player’s actions is just this meme:

Something i love and always did about both games is the fact that, for once, you're punished for your curiosity. In most videogames i know of, the player gets to see more content, get rewards and be (in some way) praised for their curiosity. In deltarune and undertale, there's some secrets that the player can find normally, without being morbid with the desire for knowledge they have, but there's also the "side b" of both games, which is that desire, that morbid curiosity, brought to the extreme. It's refreshing, because i think that it gives the message that, in some situations, people can't pry too much and that some knowledge is dangerous and hurtful to either the one discovering it, the owner(s) of the information(s), the ones facing the consequences of the discovery or all of the above. I hope i made sense, i love Toby Fox's games, they really helped me be better as a person, since i discovered Undertale as a kid.

the fandoms misogyny towards noelle is actually so bizarre because I believe that noelle is one of the best developed characters moreso specifically her idealisation towards suicide is one of the most powerful and well written piece in deltarune hands down

I mentioned it online a couple of times, but The Weird Route in Deltarune is ESSENTIALLY just Conversion Therapy for a Lesbian and her Non-Binary ex-teen-situationship-like-thing.

You should check out Karanttu’s character analysis for Kris and Chara on YouTube. They do a really good job exploring how both of them are characters in their own right and how the player impacts both of their journeys. ❤️

OMG, YES!!! She never had any sort of confidence in the weird route, she is just DESPERATE!!! We see this very early on, Noelle hogs the game from Rudy at the end of chapter 2, she was afraid of losing control, she was afraid of losing her autonomy once again after she was literally pressured to obliterate her friend. Sure, she may believe it was a dream, but it is clear that the time she spent with us made a clear impact on her.

this is a misconception that the undertale fandom has had for decades that chara is a blank slate, asriel himself says that chara was not a good person, however our actions on a genocide route DO turn chara into something worse, but saying that they were a blank slate from the beginning is erasing their arc which is laid out in new home

this video made me kinda realise that Noelle fell in love for Susie not only because, as a trouble maker, she breaks the rules that she cannot break on her own, but also because Susie IS change in Deltarune, cuz she's changing everything around her and of course Noelle would like her

Literally during the weird route endings, Kris beats on the soul for it's choices or during the route itself actively stops some of them.

I will note that we dont know whatll happen in chapter 6 and 7 (dont laugh). hell, the weird route could end up being a better ending then the normal ending based on how things are going. this isnt even bringing up twisted sword ending (which btw i feel is the most likely candidate for a conventional good ending)

I really like Noelle’s line “tell me to grow wings”. In the ferris wheel scene in chapter 2, noelle confides in Susie that if she were to do “something crazy” she would grow angel wings and fly away from the city, which especially with her exchanges with Queen, is clearly representative of her stagnant life controlled by her mother. My main point is SHE decides to grow wings herself. SHE is claiming freedom for herself, and it is through her relationship with Susie that she gains the confidence to do so. But in the weird route, we never see this exchange happen between her and Susie. Instead, it culminates in your conversation with her at the lake, where she asks you to TELL HER to grow wings. She still wants the same thing, but her reality has become so warped by your actions that she is unable to believe the life she wants is attainable. At least on her own. She needs YOU to give her the freedom from her cycle of doing what everyone else sees as “Noelle things”, but it’s so painfully ironic because in the end she’s still at the mercy of someone else. She needs you to “tell her to grow wings”, but what’s the use if she’s still in a cage

the only difference that most fans see between Chara and post chapter 5 Elly is that WE as the player broke noelle. they cannot treat Chara with the same mentally due to the fact that at the time we needed a scape goat. and now that chapter 5 wr has come, they have a new scape goat

I never did the genocide route of Undertale, but I did hear something interesting, when Flowey is begging for his life and shows Asriel's face, the dialogue stops auto-progressing, Chara won't do it for you, you have to force it, which, while also further pushing how this route is all your fault, could also show that even after all this violence, Chara still cares for their brother
