My confusion is in wondering what’s wrong with that. Why does society treat people that feel like this as horrible or “crazy” people like some people simply don’t like life, what’s wrong with that…?

Told my counselor I’m not overwhelmed by emotions but I’m in my head about whether or not life is worth living. Her advice was to take a deep breath, hold it for five seconds, and then just…… let it go on a deep exhale. Then she told me to write a letter to my younger self (I’m a professional tech writer and told her that would be akin to a work task, not a therapeutic exercise). She then referred me back to inhaling and exhaling my emotions (that I’m not struggling with)

This is literally me.. I didn’t know it had a name tho. I’ve tried explaining it to so many people that I wasn’t in crisis, that I was thinking clearly. No one listened. This video explains it so well.

First time I’ve heard anyone talk about this. I’ve felt this since I was a kid. Therapy has never helped take that away.

A very common phenomenon, especially when you don’t have family or friends to fall back on. All it takes is a string of really bad luck to completely destroy your life. The reality is, professionals assume you have at least ONE person in your corner, ONE resource you’re not using. Being told to go to an emergency department if you’re feeling siwacidal won’t fix poverty, not being able to pay rent, not having an emergency contact to phone.
