If I wanted to lose belly fat as fast as possible WITHOUT sacrificing muscle, these are the 13 things I’d do: 1. I’d stop eating the moment I wake up just because “breakfast is important.” I’d push my first meal back a few hours if it helped me control calories and appetite. 2. I’d strength train 3–4x per week. The goal isn’t just losing weight. It’s losing FAT while giving my body a reason to keep muscle. 3. I’d build every major meal around 40–50g of high-quality protein. Chicken, turkey, lean beef, salmon, eggs, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese. 4. I’d keep fats controlled, not eliminate them. Extra virgin olive oil, avocado, eggs, nuts and fatty fish, while keeping saturated fat in check. 5. I’d eat carbs. Potatoes, rice, oats and fruit, especially around training. You do NOT need to go low-carb to lose belly fat. 6. I’d drink enough water and use electrolytes when needed. Being dehydrated makes training, energy and appetite control harder than necessary. 7. I’d walk 10–15 minutes after my main meals. Probably one of the easiest habits on this entire list for improving daily activity and post-meal glucose control. 8. I’d have 30–50g protein after training and make sure my TOTAL daily protein was high enough. The daily total matters more than obsessing over a 30-minute “anabolic window.” 9. I’d aim for roughly 1.6–2.2g of protein per kg of body weight per day while dieting. For many men, that means somewhere around 150–200g depending on body size. 10. I’d add 2 cardio sessions per week. Zone 2, incline walking or another form I can recover from consistently. Fasted or fed doesn’t matter nearly as much as actually doing it. 11. I’d create an eating schedule I could repeat. For me that might be roughly 10AM–7PM. For you it could be completely different. The best schedule is the one that makes controlling calories almost automatic. 12. I’d average 8,000–12,000 steps every day. Not because walking is magic. Because daily movement adds up massively across a week. 13. I’d sleep 7–8 hours and stop treating recovery like an optional extra. Poor sleep makes hunger, recovery, training performance and adherence harder. You don’t need another extreme diet. You need a system you can execute for the next 12 weeks. Save this and start with #7 today.
