I have chronic pain, tmj, cranial torsion etc (it’s all connected) and the myofascial therapist told me I’d be worse off if i stuck with Invisalign. My mouth is small and at least at the time invisalign couldnt expand anything…

Masseter Botox only relaxes the muscles that are overworked from clenching and grinding but it does not help with TMJ issues nor does it stop you from clenching at night. It doesn’t target the root cause which could be related to your airway that’s constricted. I recommend getting a CBCT scan with an Airway dentist that prioritizes the root cause not just your teeth and get a sleep study. I know this from experience it happened to me due to many doctors that didn’t look at the “why” I was having all these symptoms so they gave me dental compensation (teeth outside the bone to look semi normal on the surface overlooking the restricted space with four premolars removed) leading me to need double jaw surgery to fix my class III and a marpe to expand my upper palate to get my tongue in the right position with myofunctional therapy. Before I did research I resulted in fillers and thought about botox trust me when I say this it’s doesn’t help it only camouflages the deficiencies. I believe you have an open bite/cross bite and maybe class II which is an over bite. The image below shows class I, II, and III if you notice the molars it’ll tell you which one you might have. I made my guesses based on what you explained but that can’t be confirmed until you get a scan. A bit different from my case but if this goes overlooked you’ll only continue to struggle. It’s a lot but it’ll get easier once you understand the root cause and a solution that will only help you.

I went to physio and did dry needling!! its a literal lifesaver, I have tmj and my jaw no longer “pops” or locks when I open it. Its just hard to find someone who specializes in dry needling the jaw. Definitely worth doing some research on it!

I get migraines because of this. I see an osteopath and I also get Botox in this area. It helps

My problem is a little bit more different. Mine is just because I grind my teeth really horribly in my sleep and sometimes during the day where my jaw hurts in general now. So I’ve been using a night guard and it’s helped take the tension off a lot.

I have this jaw pain too and it's because of the tmj being overworked cuz of teeth clenching/grinding. I suggest taking magnesium every night. also get a nightguard it's gonna help you stop clenching at night. I've heard that Botox isn't really efficient in this case

I also clench and hold tension there. I had a jaw splint made by my dentist which actually adjusts the position of your bite, I really only wear mine to sleep but it has helped so much with pain.

Girly go to a doctor, don’t try TikTok😭 try maybe a guard, or even consider bimax surgery (sometimes covered by insurance)
