as a lesbian, no. i have NOTHING against trans people and i love them, but i am a lesbian. i would be happy and support them ofc, maybe even still be their friend if we both felt comfortable with it, but i would not be able to date them

people saying "you only love them for their gender then?" are genuinely so weird.
gender doesn't have EVERYTHING to do about a relationship, but it's still important.
I'm lesbian, and if I had a partner transitioned, I'd support them. I'd use their preferred pronouns, but wouldn't date them. because I'm not into men. that DOESN'T mean I only care for gender.
that's like telling straight people they like every person of the opposite sex just because they're the different gender

It depends on your preference in this case. It's not morality wars; if you're a lesbian and your partner transitions from female to male, then you're 100% valid for losing attraction. Or if you're pan, it may not matter as much.

For me, I would have to say no, I have zero and feel zero romantic attraction towards women, while it is sad I would lose all attraction towards them and I would offer a platonic relationship instead, I don’t understand why it’s like that but recently I’ve been in that situation before and just couldn’t feel any romantic attraction towards the woman at all

I physically couldn't. I'm only attracted sexually and romantically to women. If my partner became a dude it would disrespect both our identities, I don't date men, continuing to date him will make it seem like I still see him as a woman.

i do consider myself a lesbian, but i feel like gender only plays a role in my initial attraction towards someone. my gf and i have been dating for two years, if she transitioned today, i would still love her. but if she transitioned before we got together, i probably wouldnt like her romantically anymore. theres probably a term for that, but im content with considering myself a lesbian

Why are people arguing with the lesbian lady and gay guy who are making their preference clear? Especially since this is a hypothetical situation they more than likely havent been in and, as they stated, its not about them being trans, its about them being the opposite gender from them because THAT is the factor that youre ignoring. Not everyone's attraction is genderblind and that's okay

Do people not understand that gender can play a big role in how a person perceives you? I'm aroace so this question is mostly irrelevant to me, but I can understand why someone would lose attraction once someone comes out to so they're trans. And it's not specifically because they're trans but rather because their gender is now different or seen differently. It's not a difficult concept to understand that not everyone will still be in love with their partner if their partner is a different gender..

It’s completely valid if you stop having feelings for someone if they transitioned or anything. For example for you’re a gay man and your partner transitioned your feelings towards them would stop being romantic, which is valid! Because being gay means non women liking non women, or men liking men. So it’s valid! But some people in the comments keep using the creators opinion or sexuality as an argument. The creator is probably pansexual meaning gender doesn’t matter in a relationship! So you can’t use the argument that “you never loved your partner!” Due the fact it’s just a preference. Plus the creator specified it’s THEIR personal preference in the video. I’m just saying this due to the fact SOME people are replying to other’s comments about their own personal preferences

im actually gonna go in the opposite direction as most of these comments. i am a gay man and only pursue men. however, if my current partner, who i love more than life itself transitioned into a woman, i would still love them. i know their soul already and their physical form means next to nothing to me at this point. i would probably start referring to myself as unlabeled or homoflexible upon this happening. thats just what id personally do.
