I feel like most of the people in the comments haven’t watched the show. Sayaka is not meant to be right here, she knows she’s wrong. She is a middle schooler in a terrible situation and she has no way of coping with it. Does that make what she said to Madoka justified? Obviously not, but people are judging her as if she’s a grown adult who had any chance of navigating this situation well. Every character in the show- including Madoka, is incredibly flawed because they’re young girls being groomed by a force they have little to no control over 😭

Btw Sayaka was 14 and being manipulated/groomed, anyone in her position would likely do/say similar things, her anger is misplaced, her mental health is in the gutter too seeing that she became a witch shortly after, people who have a horrible mental health may snap in a similar way, and I’ve seen tons of people defend them for that (yeah I’m comparing a real person to a fictional character, this is because this fictional character exhibits traits similar to real people from what I’ve seen)

At first her wish wasn't inherently selfish, but in Rebellion you can see her selfishness and obsession towards Madoka get so bad she turns into a demon and takes away Madoka's godhood.

Y’all not understanding this scene is so sad! Of course Sayaka saying all of this is wrong, the moment after Sayaka runs off she immediately regrets what she said and hated herself more. So much shit happened to her that built up her despair. The truth about her body being permanently sealed into a soul gem, meaning she’s nearly invincible and can never grow up, Hitomi reveals that she has a crush on the same boy she has liked for a very long time and she is forced to not pursue her chance at confessing to Kyoske because of what Kyubey did to her. Sayaka was close to her breaking point and at this moment she is taking her frustration about her own situation onto Madoka. Again she was not in the right for saying those things but it was the heat of the moment and she didn’t truly mean what she said. And what makes this scene sadder is that this was their final interaction together 💔 (in this specific timeline at least)
