my great great grandfather left in the 40s to come and fight in the US A.F. and all I can think is how heart broken he would be at the state of our current administration and how he left his home to fight for a nation that he believed would help better the world and his homeland and yet we are now perpetrators in a genocide ourselves.

I used to wonder how the women dealt with their periods in those conditions. Eventually I heard from a survivor that, perhaps mercifully, between stress and calorie deficit, most of the women's periods just stopped 😥

My gma survived the camps but wouldn’t speak about it. We only figured out her story n how she survived after she passed, and through research, her story was especially horrific as a young female teen. Please never stop talking about this, as the last of the survivors pass away ppl will forget these stories.

That was horrifyingly vivid. I have never heard a description of time in the camps so visceral and painful. I would struggle through it, but would absolutely read your book covering this inhumane time.
