Once told our boss a wage bump for all of us would be ~$3k/mo total & within our $100k/mo profit margin so we'd have less turnover. Manager shot it down, showed an AI spread that we were competitive for the area. The AI was using our company's wages for the low end of the range. 🤦

In one of the department meetings the higher up said they were using their bonus on a trip to Europe and a new golf set and asked what other people were using theirs for. One of my coworkers came off mute and said for her groceries. It got very quiet after that.
