not counting making up for the previous owners severe neglect my 540it has been insanely solid. I've put 70k miles on it in 2 years, and I've had to replace the original fuel pump and the waterpump and did all the hoses and gaskets for preventative maintenance and 1 transmission that I got scammed on but still managed to get 24k miles out of it limping it around before I put in a proven good transmission. I bought the car with blown timing chain guides and a slipping transmission. treat these cars right and they will last forever.
