@joshuaeatonca: The last couple of days have been some of the hardest I’ve faced. Last night the burning in my feet became unbearable. It felt like they were on fire, with sharp, red-hot pain that just wouldn’t let up. Today I made the decision to go to the hospital. I’ve now officially been diagnosed with diabetic neuropathy in both feet. My medication has been changed, and while I’m hopeful the new treatment will help, this diagnosis comes with the reality that there is currently no cure. It’s a difficult thing to process, knowing this is something I’ll likely have to manage for the rest of my life. It’s been a huge emotional blow for both my wife and me. We’re now having difficult conversations about the future, including the possibility of selling our home so we can adapt to this new reality. I’m also reaching out to friends to see what changes I can make to improve my quality of life. So many people have asked how they can help.
