I broke my arm and had to plead and beg my mother to take me to the E.R, even while in the E.R she couldn't have seemed less worried 😭

fell OUT of a tree. INTO a river. admittedly was my own stupid fault. but when I called my mum to tell her I thought id dislocated my shoulder (couldn't move one arm) she was so annoyed saying i was an idiot (true) and there was nothing wrong with me (not quite). she ended up having to take me to the hospital bc i still couldn't move it and was in sm pain. doc said 'well she didn't dislocate her shoulder' and my mum gave me this 'i told you so' look and started complaining about me being dramatic to the doctor. doc had to stop her to tell her id broken 2 of my ribs and the bones had splintered inwards towards my lungs and was at risk of a bone fragment puncturing one. AND i'd damaged my shoulder ligaments. NEVER FELT SO VINDICATED IN MY LIFE

broke my wrist when I was 8. my parents thought it was just a bad fall and I was being dramatic. 3 weeks later I was play wrestling with my dad and he yanked on my wrist and I screamed bloody murder. Went to the doctor the next day. broken. my parents never forgave themselves for that
