@bodymechanicsnyc: Should you book with a male massage therapist or a female massage therapist? Most places, the split is mostly female and some men. Our office? About 50-50. We love our guys — in fact, right now most of our lead staff are men. That said, I personally don't think it matters. Just like with most jobs, both men and women do the job just fine. In New York State, massage therapists are licensed professionals. I trust that. But I'm a massage therapist. You might have your own personal history, a religious consideration you need to respect, or you just might not feel comfortable. And that's completely okay. The most important thing with massage is that YOU are comfortable.
